Shared Antenatal Care
Canberra Antenatal Care (CAC) offers a private shared care model for women in Canberra and the surrounding region.
You'll typically have your first consultation and dating scan with one of our specialist doctors at 8–9 weeks, before commencing shared antenatal care with ACT Health community midwives.
Your pregnancy care is then shared between CAC and ACT Health, with delivery taking place at your chosen public hospital (North Canberra Hospital or Canberra Hospital).
Our team coordinates your antenatal records, results and referrals to ensure your chosen hospital has a complete record of your pregnancy care.
Please note: Your baby will be delivered by the maternity team at your chosen public hospital. The doctors you see at CAC do not attend the delivery.
Whether you're looking for ongoing antenatal care throughout your pregnancy or a
one-off specialist consultation and ultrasound, our experienced Obstetricians are here to help. Every appointment includes both a specialist consultation and, where required, an ultrasound, allowing you to discuss your results and care plan during the same visit.
